Bund Garden stands as one of Pune's most well-preserved locales, blending thriving nature with charming city life. In just five days from today, TEDxBund Garden Youth is set to take place in Bund Garden, a location rich in history and contemporary significance, yet often overlooked by many.


History of Bund Garden

Established in 1869 by Sir Jamshedji Jeejeebhoy, Bund Garden initially bore the name Fitzgerald Bridge before being renamed. The term "Bund" originates from its function as an embankment to control water flow. Originally situated near water to host the British-regulated regatta, it also served as a vital water source for Indian locals.





Today's Bund Garden

Over the years, Bund Garden has transformed into a beloved hotspot. While no longer the site of sailing competitions, it offers an array of attractions and activities, captivating both locals and tourists alike.

Today, Bund Garden boasts a myriad of attractions. The Bund Garden Bridge offers picturesque views of the Mula-Mutha River. Additionally, it hosts illustrious gardens like Joggers Park and Bund Garden Park, drawing crowds for morning and evening runs along their jogging tracks. Renowned as an ideal spot for leisurely activities, visitors enjoy reading, shaded strolls, and savoring the flavorful street food Pune offers.
